| MY WINGS My wings are sore and crooked I've forgotten how to fly I soar into my dreams But with each attempt - I cry. I forgot, I don't remember - I really just don't know The darkness swells with indecision Want it all don't expect it though. Disappointment burns deeply. Captured wings of yesteryear - spread in delight As memories stir the coals of desire Cry out to the drowning Moon a glorious sight Awaken - forbidden passions full of fire. Wounded prideful Eagle takes the fall I no longer seem to hear your heart call Ears fine tuned with patience O'er the years Still they listen through the fall of tears. Stupid is as stupid does my blind and foolish friend Your dreams are right before you as you fall And still you reach for something you can still not have And all the world must suffer your crippled call. Have you not the eyes to see what stares you in your face As plainly and as clearly as the day Why must you seek what isn't yours to grace When already there's a dearly better way.
